I don't often spout political rants on my website, but you know how you turn on the "well respected" network television news and see a professional blow-dried teleprompter reader tell you the President lied to you and there is no terrorist link between Iraq and Al-Qaeda. The official 9/11 commision report was released today and I read parts of the report and found it explicitly does find proven connections, support and communications of a direct link, just not proof Iraq funded or was actively involved in the specific attack on the United States in September 2001. Then I stumbled across video clip from a 1999 expose on ABC news (the same people that now claim there was never a link between terrorism and Iraq) that they themselves document and explain a long and sordid complicit relationship directly between bin Laden and a Hussein controlled Iraq. See the clip for yourself : Real Media Video.
If you can tell me why the same reporters now tell you this never happened, I'd be curious to hear that explanation. I personally believe all commercial journalists will lie to you, over-simplify and distort the truth for the opportunistic convenience of appearing sensational, all to just to sell more ads in the end and most Americans are too busy, stupid (or just plain illiterate) to seek and comprehend what's really going on in the world.
This is by no means a public endorsement of the President, but rather just another example of how you can't believe everything you see, hear and read. I would encourage everyone to be critical of the way the "news" is presented to you, consult multiple and direct sources of information, and do your duty to be properly informed before you're tempted to form conclusions about the world around you.
I hope everyone had a fun filled fourth of July weekend. A group of us guys once again roasted a hog while camping at a Lake in northern Minnesota. However, this time I didn't even bother taking my camera out of the truck. It was generally cold and wet, and it wasn't that pretty. Despite the weather I had an excellent time spending time with old friends.
