Scooter's 4th of July Bash

We have recently received confirmation and invitation to the return of the annual Scott 'Scooter' Schulz's 4th of July Bash at Lake Miltona. After a year's absense (due to Scott being called to active service and playing hero last summer), the bash will triumphantly return. This year's bash promises to be bigger than ever. As at the last bash, "the boys" will once again be roasting a hog. The hog has already been annointed and named. However, this time the hog will not be prepared by the hands of "the boys", but will be dealt with in a humane, sanitary, and legal manner.

There are plans already underway to out-do what was perceived as the pinacle of partying reached two years ago. Watch out... we have surprises in store for the entire crew. Keep watching... photos and film of the event will be posted on this site (you'll probably need a password though).

Wedding and Garden Photos

I finally got off my duff and downloaded the pictures from my camera and posted them on the website here. The new pics include photos from Matt and Sarah's wedding (as promised in the previous posting), and I took a couple pictures of the garden in our backyard. The garden pictures are under "Derek's House/Garden-03" and the wedding pictures are under, well.. "Weddings".

The garden is just starting... these will serve as an excellent set of "before" pictures. I'll try to take more through the summer and into the autumn to document my first adventures in gardening.

You will need a password to get into the wedding pictures. Just try to go to the pictures and you will be prompted with an account initialization form if you fail authentication.

Another one bites the dust...

My cousin Matt married his woman Sarah this weekend. I was in the wedding party. Everyone had a great time. My cousins Chache and Lou (Charlie and Luke) took a bunch of pictures all weekend. I'll get them up on this site after I get some more sleep. Congrats on pulling it off and good luck in Vegas!

Conference Finals?!

So, the Wild move on to the conference finals. They play Anaheim with home ice advantage! Somebody made a few bucks in Vegas on this one. It will be very interesting once again.

Also, I spent most of yesterday bored out of my mind at a college commencement ceremony. Congrats to the grads, but something needs to be done about those ceremonies. Like end them.

Wild Hang On

There's at least one more game at home tomorrow night. At the very least, they're not going down easy. With their backs to the wall they scored a franchise record seven goals. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow night.

New Photos

While I've been in the mood to get this site up to date, I posted some long overdue photos in the photo album. These date back to the Twins playoffs last October and include things like more Steamboat photos, New Years, ice fishing, UMD in the WCHA final five, and much more.

You may need to update your password, or intitialize one if you don't have one yet. To do that goto the account initialization page. Fill out the form and I'll review and update your account.

Marching towards Lord Stanley's Cup

I had to post something reminding everyone to watch the Minnesota Wild games. It's easy to forget they're still playing in May! The game is at the Xcel Center, on FoxSports Net locally and ESPN2 nationally. I have a feeling they won't back down too easy.

Hopefully we'll here more of this sound!

The sound of course is the goal horn from the Xcel Energy Center after another Minnesota goal.

New Look

What do you think? I've been putting off keeping up the website for months. I just wrapped up my first year of grad school and I finally found the time to re-design the site.

Hopefully I'll continue to add new features to the site, so stay tuned.

Next thing up: finally fix the photos and passwords.
